Wow. What a few days of weather. Blair and I (as well as my parents in GA) are all safe and sound. Thank you everyone for checking in.
Here in Nashville, it was a crazy almost two days of weather. Since the floods last year, the Nashville weather "peeps" have done a fabulous job of warnings and notice. We were prepared with our weather radio, flashlights, and bottle water hours in advance.
And let me just say THANK YOU to our weather radio. Though it did keep us up almost all night long, it also kept us safe. We spent most of the night and the next day running to the basement about every 15 minutes. As soon as we would come up, it would go off again, and back to the basement we'd go. Thankfully, we came out unscathed. So many families and towns were not so lucky and are absolutely devastated. Seeing such devastation brings back memories of our floods last year. You almost feel alone, and even forgotten, like the world continues on .... while you and your lively hood are left to disappear in front of your eyes. My heart goes out to everyone effected. YOU ARE NOT ALONE. We see you, we hear you ... and we are there for you.
"Lord, help the victims of hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes and other natural disasters. Send in more helpers and multiply the supplies that are needed for their aid. Deliver us from the storms that are raging around us now. Saint Medard, pray for us. Amen."

Our house was HOPPING, no pun intended :-) We had my parents, Blair's parents, and Blair's sister+family up for the whole long weekend. Emily and Zak are over traveling in Europe celebrating Zak's 30th b'day. We sure did miss them, but I know they are just having a blast over there! Can't wait till they get back to get the scoop and see all the pics ...
Back in Nashville, it sure was a house full, but definitely a good time had by all. Blair's family flew up on Thursday evening, and my parents drove up on Friday morning. We did a lot of eating, drinking and playing. Sunday was Mass, and then an Easter brunch back at the house. Our friends James and Dee made an appearance as well!
Monday, it was back to reality. Everyone headed home, and we began to put the house back together, (exhale). Having so much of our family visit all at the same time can most definitely stretch your sanity. However, we are so thankful and blessed to not only have the resources to host everyone, but also have families that get along well enough to vacation together!
All in all, a successful weekend! I'm already looking forward to the next get together ... well, almost ;)
Hello and WELCOME :-)
So lets just cut to the chase...to blog or not to blog? That was my question.
I've been going back and forth about if and when to start blogging. I had the best of intentions to start up right after my surgery...to help keep track of my progress, as well as keep all of you fabulously caring folks up to speed on everything. However, life has gotten away from me per usual, and here I am about 6 weeks post op just now constructing my first post. Oy :/ Better late then never, right?
There's been SO much going on! As the plot thickens, I've found it difficult keeping in touch with all who I love in life...whether it be family, friends, Atlantans, New Yorkers, or Nashvillians. My hope is that by building this blog, I will find a new outlet in helping to nurture those relationships that I hold near and dear to my heart.
So, welcome! I can't always promise it'll be great (or even good), but I can promise you that it'll be "Liz". Take your shoes off, make yourself at home....and stay awhile :-)
